- How to diminish the mortality from cancer in gastroenterology
The Seventh International Symposium of Gastroenterology was held in Tallinn (Estonia) under the professional auspices of the Czech Society of Gastroenterology. The main topic of the symposium was the possibilities of early diagnostics and subsequent therapy of tumours of the digestive tract including tumours of pancreas. Early diagnostics is still methodologically determined and in terms of treatment the disease stages strongly influence the success of the therapy. Lectures given by renowned experts from the Czech Republic, Spain, Poland and Slovakia were supplemented by interactive discussions. At the end of each block case studies were presented or, with the help of video, for example, the used endoscopic treatment methods were demonstrated. Experience from practice and information useful for further education and practice could be heard.
