PRO.MED.CS Praha a.s. in cooperation with Promocions Médiques Andorranes s.l., and the Czech and Polish Societies of Gastroenterology has organised The Sixth International Symposium of Gastroenterology, this time in Krakow (Poland). The expert agenda was dedicated to emergency conditions in gastroenterology which pose an imminent threat to the life of the patient. About 300 symposium participants followed with great interest the presentations on the bleeding into the gastrointestinal tract, conditions accompanying liver failure, complications of acute pancreatitis, the use and risks of parenteral nutrition and others. Apart from Czech, Polish and Slovakian gastroenterologists the symposium was attended by leading specialists from Spain and from the countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia. The topicality of the topics selected was confirmed by numerous discussions that followed after each presentation.
